I've been absent from this blog for a while. I've been paying attention, but I just haven't been writing much in this venue.

So... Trump won. Love or hate Trump, but be glad he won. Because a Hillary presidency would be... well, if you like where the country was going under Obama, Hillary would be another four years of the same or worse. (Notice I didn't say eight years; I don't think her health would even permit a full four year term.)

I can't say much about Trump. No one knows how he'll govern. He's always been slippery about his stances on issues. He's not an ideologue; he's a pragmatist.

But his candidacy arises from a deep dissatisfaction among Americans about their government and the direction of their country. Hopefully he will make good on his promises. That is, if Congress cooperates.
